Well, my participation in this election is over. We had long lines, I waited over an hour to vote and I thought by going in the morning that I would be at an off peak time. I had insomnia last night and stayed up quite late on various political blogs courtesy of Mary Beth and listening to the BBC coverage. I don’t expect to get much sleep tonight.
The pollsters have it neck and neck, but here’s the thing. I drove around St. Louis and down to Imperial through Arnold yesterday, these are small towns that are being incorporated into St. Louis through sprawl. I was in traffic for hours and all over town. Kerry bumper stickers and yard signs outnumbered Bush stickers at least twenty to one. This is no concrete measure as nicer vehicles repel stickers through the cunning use of cold fusion. Still, it was nice to see.
